Have a go at bowls; the comeback sport of the "noughties"!
Thanks to classic comedy films like Mel Smith’s Blackball (which was also filmed on location in Torquay) the sport has sparked an interest across the generations with young and old alike taking to the greens! The English Riviera offers first class flat green and short mat bowls from beginner to professional level all year round at a number of indoor and outdoor venues. Bowling holidays are also available at some hotels with their own dedicated facilities.

Furzeham, Brixham
The Furezham green is located near the old Brixham Railway Station and is a 9 acre Recreation Ground with a bowling green, Football Pitch and a multi use games area. This ground commands a fine view of Torbay.
Abbey Park, Torquay
Abbey Park, located on Torquay Seafront has an attractive pond and water rock garden. The ruins of the old Abbey are still very much in evidence. There you will find the interesting Education Gardens and Palm House maintained by use of organic methods. The Palm House has many rare plants within it.
